Reitmans Pre-Fall
Pre-fall is an amazing time to transition your wardrobe. The colours get richer, the fabrics are textured and more lush. And best of all, you can mix and match things from both the summer and fall season. Using this lightweight plaid, puff sleeve top as my anchor, I styled two different looks.

For my first look I paired the top against a high rise skinny jean. It’s a simple, playful layered look. It allows the plaid to be the focus. By using a white cami under, it makes the white in the plain stand out more.

In the second look, I used the plaid top as a pop against black paper bag trousers. I like the way the waist of the pants also mimics the ruffle detail at the elbow of the top’s sleeve. Pairing the plaid against a black base does make this look read a little darker, which is why I opted to give the outfit a splash of colour with these red tassel earrings.
Whether you’re at work or at play, get creative with pre-fall looks. Mix and match, layer and have fun. Think of it as an appetizer before the meal that is fall!
